FGGC, Oyo was established in 1974 along with some other Unity Colleges to provide qualitative secondary school education for the female children between the ages of 10 and 18

FUNCTIONS OF THE PTA
- To represent the views of parents and guardians of the learners in the school
- To promote a routine view of parents
- To influence policy development at the school level
- To influence policy development at the national level
- To keep parents informed of activities in the school
- To assist the school in areas where intervention is required
- To synergize with the school and proffer solutions on better ways of school management.
- To establish a forum for both Parents and Teachers where information and ideas are shared on the education and welfare of the students
- To inform parents of any change in the school calendar
- To support teachers in delivering the school curriculum
- To support the school management in the actualization of the aims and objectives of the school.
- PTA FGGC OYO has since inception been striving to ensure that it achieves all the outlined roles it is expected to do within her own jurisdiction
